Recommendations out of Arkansas and Missouri for use of dicamba herbicides in the 2018 season include burn-down only.The Arkansas Dicamba Task Force, Thursday, made three preliminary recommendations including this one, “Cut-off date for use of dicamba by April 15th for the 2018 season only. They want to revisit that in 2019,” says Adriane Barnes with the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.
Dr. Kevin Bradley, University of Missouri weed scientist, tells Brownfield until he sees something different from the EPA or elsewhere, he recommends growers abstain from applying the products later in the season, “My recommendation is we stick with where we know we’ve used it successfully until we can figure out why sometimes it moves off site and other times it doesn’t.
