A group of U.S. dairy farmers saw first-hand what it’s like to be a dairy farmer in Ireland. Fifty-two farmer members of the Professional Dairy Producers from six states just returned from ten days in Ireland. PDPW Director Shelly Mayer tells Brownfield there are many similarities, but one big difference. “Most of them are seasonal calving. Now, there are some that may have a contract with their processor and they’ll have some cows that will calve so there’s some milk flowing in October and November.
