
Indiana-Based Beck’s Hybrids has developed a multi-row width, multi-hybrid concept planter.
Jim Schwartz, Director of Practical Farm Research (PFR) and Agronomy with the company, says the planter will help farmers have a better understanding of what is going on in their fields.
“It basically has row units every 10 inches, so you can plan 10-inch rows, 20-inch rows, and 30-inch rows using multiple hybrids at multiple seeding rates,” he says. “The goal was to start developing deeper levels of information and understanding of management zones in the field and then planting those different management zones in unique ways
Beck’s Hybrids partnered with Harvest International, Precision Planting, and Schlipf Precision Ag to develop the multi-row, multi-width concept planter.
