The National Association of Wheat Growers says there are improvement opportunities for wheat trade while renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement. NAWG CEO Chandler Goule says wheat growers and buyers can benefit from some enhancements to NAFTA. He says it’s important that sanitary and phytosanitary rules are transparent and science-based. Goule says with the push to reduce tariffs, non-tariff barriers, especially sanitary and phytosanitary trade barriers are becoming more common.
