62% of U.S. corn, 60% of soybeans in good to excellent shape

The USDA’s national condition rating improved slightly for soybeans last week, while corn held. Growing conditions in key parts of the United States continue to vary widely and ratings for corn and soybeans remain below a year ago, close to their lowest levels in several years.
As of Sunday, 76% of U.S. corn is at the dough making stage and 29% has dented, both behind their respective five year averages. 62% of this year’s crop is in good to excellent condition, unchanged on the week, but with 1% moving from good to excellent.
