The Minnesota Pork Board selected Amelia Welter of Olmstead County as the 2017-2018 Minnesota Pork Ambassador.
Welter, one of 15 young people competing this year, says she’s honored to represent Minnesota pork producers.
“I grew up on a pig farm, so pork is near and dear to my heart. I’ve had the experience of being around pigs my entire life. Getting engaged with consumers, talking with producers, making sure that our stories are all being heard is part of my responsibility.”
Welter tells Brownfield consumers are very curious about pork production.
