An extension crops educator says small grain farmers need to target late-season weeds to prevent escapes.
Jared Goplen with the University of Minnesota tells Brownfield many farmers have begun harvesting small grains and will soon see those fields start to green up.
He says there are a few considerations for farmers making post-harvest weed management decisions.
The USDA says as of Sunday, about 40 percent of the nation’s spring wheat acreage has been harvested.
