Many farmers and market analysts have questioned the corn and soybean yield estimates in Thursday’s USDA crop production report. They were expecting lower yields than what the USDA forecast, especially given the summer crop condition ratings, which are significantly lower than last year.
But University of Illinois ag economists Darrel Good and Todd Hubbs say USDA’s estimates may not be as far off as people think.
