On the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, both live and feeder cattle closed sharply lower. Both were beat up by the combination of long-liquidation and technical selling and feeders had additional pressure from the firm move in corn. August live cattle closed down $2.45 at $110.00, October live cattle down $2.55 at $108.05. Feeder cattle closed limit down across the board – August feeders ended the down at $142.52 and September feeder cattle closed at $142.15.
Direct cash cattle trade was reported light to moderate in most areas.
