A warm and sunny week allowed Minnesota farmers to start small grain harvesting and continue to put up hay. The USDA’s National Ag Statistics Service reports almost six days were suitable for field work.
Along with hay and small grains, USDA reporters say some sweet corn harvesting is underway.
Seventy-nine percent of the corn is silking. Thirteen percent is at the dough stage. Corn is rated 81% good to excellent.
