Direct cash cattle markets are off to a slow start with packers focusing on the collection of new showlists. Asking prices this week are poorly defined, which is typical for early in the week. Opening cash bids ranged from steady to $1 lower. The market had an extreme top at $190 in Iowa, but dressed trade ranged from $186-190, but mostly at $188. Southern lives traded mostly at $117, $3 lower than the previous week.
