Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were lower. Markets are still reacting to last week’s direct cash cattle business. August live cattle closed down $.90 at $112.00, October closed down $.47 at $111.95. Feeder cattle were mostly lower, but did close higher in the near-term on weak trade in corn. August feeders closed up $.12 at $146.17 and September feeders down $.45 at $146.65.
Direct cash cattle trade was quiet following the distribution of new showlists.
