The consensus in the agriculture industry when it comes trade discussions – is “do no harm”. As the 2018 Farm Bill debate continues the American Soybean Association would like to see funding doubled for the Market Access Program and the Foreign Market Development program. They say increases in funding for those programs would add to the US economy and help ensure US farmers are competitive in the global market. In addition, a veteran farm policy analyst says the “do no harm” mentality carries over in the NAFTA 2.0 discussions.
