Frequent rains caused some problems for many Wisconsin farmers last week.  The USDA’s National Ag Statistics Service had many reports of crop damage from flooding and oversaturated soils, and even some reports of blown down crops, barns, and trees.  Making hay was challenging last week statewide, and conditions for all crops varied widely across the state.

Ninety-seven percent of Wisconsin’s topsoil has adequate or surplus moisture.

Corn is rated 70% good to excellent as one-third of the corn is in silk stage.
