Scattered rain and warm temperatures aided crop development and condition last week.
The latest progress report from USDA shows there were more than four days suitable for fieldwork, with some aerial spraying of pesticides occurring.
Minnesota’s corn acreage continues to thrive, with 80 percent rated in the good to excellent category. The crop has also surpassed 60 percent silking, five days behind last year.
Minnesota soybeans are rated 72 percent good to excellent, and 70 percent are blooming—three days slower than normal.
