U.S. red meat and pork production during June 2017 were new monthly records.
Pork came out at 2.053 billion pounds, 2% above a year ago, with a 3% year to year increase in slaughter to 9.870 million head cancelling out at 1 pound loss in the average live weight to 279 pounds.
Beef production was 2.279 billion pounds, up 4% on the year, with the kill 6% higher at 2.858 million head and the average live weight 13 pounds lighter at 1,321 pounds.
