Cargill has partnered with a natural feed additives firm. The Illinois-based global food company says its strategic equity investment is with Austria-based Delacon, “the pioneer and global leader in phytogenic feed additives.” The feed additive category includes herbs, spices and plant extracts (like essential oils) aimed at improving animal health and performance while being sustainable. The CEO of Delacon says the partnership with Cargill will increase its footprint in moving to a “mainstream need.” Cargill says the investment will help it move its additives sector into select markets outside the U.S.
