Hot, dry weather in some key U.S. growing areas lowered the USDA’s national corn and soybean condition ratings over the past week. Both crops are either at or close to critical development phases.
As of Sunday, 65% of corn is in good to excellent condition, down 3% on the week and 11% below this time last year. 19% of the crop is silking, compared to the five year average of 27%.
