South Dakota’s mostly dry conditions continued to lower soil moisture and stress crops. Scattered showers moved across the southeast and west early in the week, but it was light, with the driest parts of the State receiving no rainfall. Topsoil moisture is only 32 adequate to surplus. Winter wheat is only 12 good, none of it’s excellent. Seven percent is harvested. Spring wheat is 11 percent good to excellent and 55 percent poor to very poor.
