Weather continues to create additional struggles for Indiana farmers. Last week’s scattered storms brought relief to some drought stressed crops, but heavy downpours led to more ponding in several fields.
According to the latest weekly crop report just 47 percent of the state’s corn crop is rated good to excellent with 8 percent of the crop silking. Fifty-one percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent and 14 percent of the crop is blooming.
