U.S. grain stocks on June 1st were larger than a year ago.
Corn and soybean stocks were both up 11% on the year, with solid quarterly demand mostly cancelled out by big 2016 crops. Wheat stocks jumped 21%, with good domestic demand mostly cancelled out by slow exports.
The USDA’s next set of supply and demand estimates is out July 12th.
The USDA says corn stocks on June 1st, 2017 were 5.225 billion bushels, compared to 4,711,079 on June 1st, 2017.
