Most direct cash cattle markets are quiet. Asking prices are around $120 to $124 in the South and $193+ in the North with bids at $118 to $120 on the live basis and $188 to $190 dressed. Business Wednesday was light, all in the north, at $190 to $191 on the dressed basis, $3 to $5 lower than most of last week’s activity. Packer demand is kind of a question mark ahead of the holiday, but there’s still business left to be done, especially in southern areas.
