The Innovations Center for U.S. Dairy has honored Michigan ag groups for their response to support at risk families affected by the Flint water crisis.
Allison Stuby Miller with the Michigan Milk Producers Association tells Brownfield a healthy diet which includes nutrient dense foods like milk can help protect against the effects of lead poisoning. More than 36,000 gallons of dairy farmer member milk from the co-op was donated to mitigate health risks during the crisis.
