The father and son convicted of selling contaminated eggs that caused a 2010 salmonella outbreak have been sentenced to several months in prison.
Jack DeCoster and his son Peter pleaded guilty three years ago in Iowa federal court to selling adulterated eggs that led to the outbreak that sickened thousands of people.
The DeCosters lost their final appeal to get out of prison time. They have each been sentenced to three months in federal prison and have paid $100-thousand dollars in fines so far.
