Farmers Union leaders in four states and the head of the National Farmers Union are asking the U.S. Ag Secretary for emergency haying and grazing help for farmers .
In a letter to Secretary Perdue, these Farmers Union groups are asking for the release of Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) lands in all of North Dakota, and parts of South Dakota, Montana and Minnesota.
The letter says members have reported a feed supply that is deteriorating because of severe drought and hay that is becoming more and more scarce.
