R-CALF USA is one of three groups that have filed a lawsuit in federal court in Washington state against the USDA, arguing the agency should require country-of-origin-labeling on imported meat products.
The groups say USDA regulations allow beef and pork from other countries to be labeled “domestic products.” The lawsuit says the USDA is violating the text of the Meat Inspection Act.
R-CALF says the other plaintiffs are the Ranchers-Cattlemen Legal Action Fund and Cattle Producers of Washington.
