Sporadic rainfall and warm temperatures helped boost corn growth this week. According to the latest weekly crop report 96 percent of Ohio’s corn crop has emerged and 52 percent is rated good to excellent and 41 percent is rated fair. Ninety-six percent of Ohio soybeans are planted, 85 percent emerged, and 58 percent rated good to excellent.
Marion County farmer John Buck says crops in his area look pretty sad. “Most of the corn in our area – crop insurance has said about 85 percent was replanted,” he says.
