Kansas Wheat says “variability” is expected to be the name of the game as winter wheat harvest progresses through the state.
Reports out of south central and southeastern Kansas this week indicate yields and test weights are slightly above average, while protein levels remain similar to last year. Derek Klingenberg of Peabody, Kansas reported yields of 55 to 60 bushels per acre with test weights running from 62 to 65 pounds.
