Direct hogs hit eighty-dollars

Cattle country was at a standstill on Tuesday afternoon with both buyers and sellers waiting for greater signs of price potential. There may not be mush definition in that regard until the second half of the week. Guesses are initial asking prices will start out on a steady firm basis, around 137.00 to 138.00 live. The cattle kill was estimated at 117,000 head, even with last week, but 5,000 more than last year.
