Nearly half of Wisconsin and some adjacent Minnesota and Illinois counties can apply for a special loan from USDA’s Farm Service Agency. Acting Administrator Chris Beyerhelm says farmers in 11 Wisconsin counties suffered major losses from severe weather including tornadoes between May 16th and May 18th. Farmers in 23 more Wisconsin counties, four in Minnesota, and two in Illinois might also qualify for the low-interest physical loss loans.
The program helps operators repair or replace physical property essential to an agriculture operation, including buildings and livestock.
