Less-than-expected market reaction to planting delays

Many key parts of the Corn Belt have had to deal with delayed planting, replanting, and quite possibly acres that won’t get planted at all or will not produce to their potential. University of Illinois agriculture economist Darrel Good tells Brownfield Ag News planting disruptions have had less market impact than he’d expect. With the exception of 2012, Good says there hasn’t been a significant weather market in the past 20 years, which may result in fading memory among traders.
