Soybeans were mixed, adjusting old crop/new crop spreads. Crop insurance deadlines are rapidly approaching for corn and there’s at least some expectation for an increase in bean acres, at least when compared to the March 31st USDA numbers. Soybean planting is also slower than average with prevent plant numbers out in August. Soybean meal was mixed, consolidating, and bean oil was lower on follow through selling and the drop in crude oil. According to wire reports, Chinese soybean buyers are delaying shipments and may be backing off new purchases until crush margins improve.
