Soybeans were lower on commercial and technical selling. Contracts hung around the recent lows with a lot of uncertainty about just how big acreage will be this year. As of Sunday, the USDA says 67% of soybeans are planted and 37% has emerged, both behind their respective five year averages. Unknown destinations bought 130,000 tons of old crop U.S. beans and weekly export inspections were bullish, but the trade’s more focused on record South American production and what could be another record U.S.
