The USDA is providing more than a quarter billion dollars in loans for rural electric infrastructure improvements.
Acting Deputy Undersecretary for Rural Development Roger Glendenning says these loans will help improve the delivery of reliable electricity, and ensure that rural areas nationwide can prosper economically.
Among the projects receiving funds through the Electric Program of the Rural Utilities Service are:
(MN) Minnesota’s Wild Rice Electric Cooperative, which will use nearly $15 million to build or improve over 120 miles of line, and finance $3.3 million in smart grid technologies.
