Ohio saw frequent rain and generally cool temperatures last week, preventing planting and even replanting of corn and soybeans. More than half of the state reports excess soil moisture.
82% of corn is planted, compared to the five year average of 88%, and 62% has emerged, compared to 64% on average. 49% of corn is rated good to excellent and 39% is called fair.
54% of soybeans are planted, compared to 71% usually this time of year, and 35% has emerged, compared to the normal pace of 38%.
