A southeast Minnesota corn and soybean farmer says the 2017 planting season went pretty smoothly.
Ryan Buck of Goodhue County says he started planting corn April 24th.
“We planted Sunday, Monday, and early Tuesday morning. Then we stopped and got that week of cold, wet weather.”
He says planting resumed around May fifth.
“And we were able to keep on going until that Friday before Mother’s Day, and finished everything up (including soybeans).”
Buck tells Brownfield there was some soil crusting during a warm week in mid-May.
