The first condition rating of the season for Iowa’s corn crop puts the crop at 12 percent excellent, 63 percent good, 22 percent fair and 3 percent poor to very poor.
As of Sunday, 92 percent of Iowa’s corn crop was planted, two days ahead of the five-year average. Corn emergence was 59 percent, four days behind last year.
Soybean planting reached 62 percent complete and 15 percent of soybeans had emerged.
