Almost half of Minnesota’s total corn acreage and more than 40 percent of intended soybean acres were planted last week.
The USDA’s latest crop progress report says warm and dry weather allowed farmers to not only catch up on planting, but move cattle to pasture as well.
Corn planting is 84 percent complete as of Sunday–eight days behind last year, but slightly ahead of normal.
The soybean planting pace is also a step in front of average, at 47 percent.
