Farm management specialist Gary Schnitkey says crop insurance agents should be consulted when determining whether to replant corn. Schnitkey, at the University of Illinois, tells Brownfield a wide stretch of the Corn Belt has areas where wet parts of fields will result in replanting.
“I would get stand counts there and just note that it’s going to have to be a pretty low stand to warrant replanting, because that’s just the way the economics work out,” said Schnitkey, during an interview with Brownfield Ag News.
