A stretch of warmer and drier weather is allowing farmers in southern Minnesota to make up for lost time.
Rochelle Krusemark of Trimont says they finished planting corn Tuesday night and went right into soybeans the next day.
“We have about 550 acres of soybeans left to plant, so I’m thinking we should be done on Mother’s Day.”
Speaking to Brownfield Friday, St. James farmer Harold Wolle said he’s made similar progress following weeks of cool and damp weather.
