The president and CEO of the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) says following stewardship practices when using treated seed is vital to its success.
Andy LaVigne says there are five basic steps to follow: follow label directions, eliminate flowering weeds, minimize dust, pollinator awareness, and clean and remove all treated seed that could be left over in equipment. “We want to make sure that we can minimize the risk of exposure to any non-targeted organisms that are out there,” he says.
