An Indiana farmer has received the ultimate Mother’s Day recognition.
Third generation farmer Susan Brocksmith of Vincennes, Ind. has been named Monsanto’s America’s Farmers National Farm Mom of the Year.
She says women play in integral role in today’s agriculture industry. “Some women are in the front and are the farmers,” she says. “And other women are out there supporting their husbands in the field, too. We as women have taken on a lot of the different roles over the years to make sure agriculture is where it’s at today.”
She tells Brownfield the recognition gives her the platform to connect with other moms who have questions about modern agriculture and food production.
