USDA lowered the annual beef and pork outlooks, citing lower carcass weights, and broiler chickens were down on the month because of expectations for lower second quarter production. Turkeys were the exception, up on higher slaughter numbers. Lower production projections for beef, pork, and broilers led to higher price estimates, against a reduced price outlook for turkeys. Beef in 2017 is now seen at 26.310 billion pounds with pork at 26.054 billion, broilers at 41.482 billion pounds, and turkeys at 6.122 billion.
