Some corn growers having to make replanting decisions because of flooding and saturated soils do have some time on their side.
Greg Luce, University of Missouri Extension specialist, tells Brownfield corn can safely be planted through the end of May and into early June in Missouri – BUT – it depends on length of flooding, temperature during flooding and the drying rate. His advice is to stick with planting intentions, not switching corn hybrids, and be prepared to start from scratch.
