U.S. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue says convincing China to resume purchases of U.S. beef will be one of his top priorities.
Speaking in Iowa last week, Perdue said he will work on that issue with Chinese ambassador-nominee, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad.
“Governor Branstad and I are going to go to China and sell all the Iowa beef we can,” Perdue said with a laugh, drawing applause from those in attendance. “The Chinese will tell you they want American beef, and we’re going to figure out a way to get it to them.”
