Corn planting in Minnesota advanced more than 20 percent last week.
The USDA says 35 percent of the state’s intended corn acres have been planted, compared to 12 percent the week before.
However, progress lags more than two weeks behind last year and is eight days slower than the five year average.
There were scattered reports of soybean and sunflower planting, and farmers also spread manure and tilled fields as conditions allowed.
