Bids and asking prices are not yet established on this week’s cattle showlists. The new offering appears to be larger in the North and smaller in the South. Overall the new offering appears to be about steady with last week. The Monday kill totaled 115,000 head, 8,000 greater than last week, and 5,000 more than last year.
Boxed beef cutout values were sharply higher on moderate demand and light offerings. Choice beef was up 2.57 at 241.44, select was 3.32 higher at 222.89.
