A southwest Minnesota farmer says a tight margin environment led him to become his own crop consultant.
Jakob Hicks of Redwood County tells Brownfield he, like most growers, is looking to cut costs without sacrificing production.
“What we’re working on is looking into potential methods of soil testing on your own farm that will be the most effective and cheapest ways for farmers to get their soil testing done.”
Hicks has identified three options he considers best-suited for his operation.
