Ohio planting slowed by late week rain

Producers in Ohio made corn planting progress last week, at least until widespread rainfall set in. The heaviest amounts were reported in southwestern Ohio, which the USDA says drowned out some recently planted fields.
42% of corn is planted, compared to the five year average of 21%, and 5% has emerged. 81% of winter wheat is called good to excellent and 83% of pastures and rangelands are in good to excellent condition.
