There was significant corn planting progress this past week in Missouri. The National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS) says Missouri farmers are 46 percent done with corn, 32 percentage points behind a year ago, but central Missouri farmer Nathan Alpers is finished.
“It’s always good to have the corn in in the month of April,” Alpers told Brownfield Ag News Monday. “In fact, I’ve started planting beans; the earliest I’ve ever experienced it, but I started planting the east end of the beans April 19th, and got a few hundred acres planted.
